Have you ever fitted the halo mass function in the IllustrisTNG simulation? Or is there any paper that has done similar work?

The dark matter halo mass function, in all the TNG simulations, is similar to any other simulation with the same cosmology.
There are several TNG papers assessing the small differences therein, namely the impact of baryons and baryonic feedback processes on the halo mass function. These include Springel+ 2018.
